Professional Indemnity Insurance
Our primary layer of coverage is provided by Travelers Insurance
Company Limited under policy number UC SOL 3898744. Travelers

8AG. Our coverage limited is £3,000,000.
A complaint?
If you are dissatisfied with our service please note the procedure
for bringing your concerns to our attention:
(i) In the event of a problem you are entitled to complain about
our service and/or our bills;
(ii) Initially a complaint should be made in writing to Robert R
Amsterdam;
(iii) This firm has a complaints procedure a copy of which will be
made available to you on request or in the event you make a
complaint
(iv) You also have the right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman at
the conclusion of our complaint handling process. If you
choose to exercise that right you must firstly allow us 8 weeks
from notifying us of your complaint to seek to resolve your
concerns. If we have not done so within those 8 weeks you may
approach the Legal Ombudsman but you only have 6 months from your
last contact with us in which to approach him.
(v) The Legal Ombudsman may be contacted at
www.legalombudsman.org.uk, by phone on 0300 555 0333, email at
enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk or via post by writing to: PO Box
15870, Birmingham B30 9EB.
(vi) You may also be entitled to exercise a right to object to the
bill by applying to the court for an assessment of the bill under
Part III of the Solicitors Act, 1974; and,
(vii) If all or part of a bill remains unpaid we may be entitled
to charge interest.
Insurance mediation
Amsterdam & Peroff LLP is authorised and regulated by the
Financial Services Authority (FSA) via the Solicitors Regulation
Authority in respect of the undertaking of insurance mediation
activity and our details may be found in the Exempt Professional
Firm (EPF) register. If you have any problem with any
insurance mediation activity which we have provided then please let
us know.
If we are unable to resolve the problem between us, then the FSA
provide a complaints and redress scheme through the Financial
Ombudsman Service. Your complaint should be addressed to the
Solicitors Regulation Authority in the first instance. Their
contact details may be found at www.sra.org.uk.
Investment advice
Amsterdam & Peroff LLP is not authorised by the Financial
Services Authority of England and Wales or under the Financial
Services and Markets Act 2000 for investment advice. However we are
able in certain circumstances to offer a limited range of
investment services to clients because we are regulated by the Law
Society of England and Wales, which has a complaints and redress
procedure. We can only provide investment services if they are an
incidental part of the professional services we have been engaged
to provide.

advice on the merits of investment transactions and no
communication by us should be treated as an invitation or
